Choosing Highly Effective HEPA Filters

Allergies are significant health conditions that we need to be aware of. Because there are different triggers of allergy, we can’t rely on a single method or solution. Many triggers of allergies are on the air and it is important if we are able to remove all possible contaminates. A good air purifier should help is to remove any cause of asthma and allergies. We will have much better air quality and our overall health will be much improved. A good purifier should allow us to remove harmful particles from the air, such as dust mites, pet dander, dust, dust spores, pollen and others. We will be able to breathe more easily and our home will become a much healthier place to live in.

HEPA filters are often considered as the primary selection when it comes to purifying the air quality inside our house. A regular HEPA air purifier should be able to remove 99.5 percent of tiny particles with the size of 0.3 microns. It means that bacteria and viruses could still circulate inside our house, due to their very small sizes. So, it’s clear that standard HEPA filters won’t be effective in trapping and destroying viruses. Smoke is also consistent of very small particulates and we need a much more powerful air purifier device. When choosing  filtration system, we should also make sure that it won’t leak dangerous particles back into the indoor environment. A hyper HEPA filter should be able to remove particulates with the size as small as 0.003 microns with 99.5 percent success rate. It means that hyper HEPA filters should be 100 times more effective than your average HEPA filter. In general, anything smaller than 0.003 is already in the gas category or already in the molecular levels.

High performance HEPA filters often have more than one filter elements inside them. They are needed to ensure that much of the particulates can be removed very effectively. Regardless of what type of air purifier we choose, it is important that we regularly change the filter elements. Depending on the model and the quality of the filter, these elements will need to be replaced every 6 to 18 months. Some models have digital interface that includes a countdown of when the filter components will need to be replaced. The air purifier should have multi-year warranty and it needs to have very low maintenance costs. This should help us to keep the entire system inexpensive and easy to operate. Air purifiers are often loud, especially when we use them during the night. For this reason, we should choose models that are built with quietness in mind. In order to deal with the noise, the fan can be located at the middle of the device, so any noise can be masked better by the device’s structure. Quiet air purifiers often have dual wall housing and various rubber elements that are designed to absorb vibrations. Without an air purifier, we could breathe in two spoonfuls of foreign particles, especially in dusty and polluted areas.
