If you struggle to find the time or know how to eat more fruit and vegetables in your diet, you’re in the right place! We’re here with a few really simple tips that you can use to fuel your body with the nutrients it needs without having to eat bland and boring fruits and vegetables. From trying meal prep to morning smoothies and cooking vegetables into sauces, you will feel amazing and your body will certainly thank you for it!

Have Meal Prep

Our first tip is to try meal prep! You can sit down and plan out your meals for the week including a variety of lots of fruits and veggies, cook everything in bulk and then enjoy throughout the week so you know you have a healthy meal to enjoy everyday.

However, this is quite time consuming, but there are plenty of companies where you can have healthy ready meals delivered straight to you. If you have any dietary requirements they can be catered for, you can choose how many meals you want each week to suit your schedule and you can choose which meals you want for the day. For example, if you’re never really hungry for breakfast, you can just order lunch and dinner.

This is a great way to know that you are fuelling your body with all of the vitamins, minerals, protein, carbs and healthy fat that it needs even when you are short on time.

Buy Frozen Fruit and Veg

Many people avoid buying fruit and veg fresh as it can be expensive, but buying frozen fruit and veg is a great alternative! It is more affordable, it lasts so much longer so you can always have it on hand, it comes pre chopped so can just be thrown into recipes and there is so much variety you can find most things that you can get fresh!

Keep the basics like peas, sweetcorn and carrots, then jazz them up with tasty herbs and a spoonful of butter to make them that bit more delicious!

Start Your Day With A Smoothie

Next up, we would always recommend starting your day with a smoothie. Take half a banana with a handful of frozen fruit, some spinach or kale leaves, a spoonful of chia seeds, apple juice and water, blend really well and enjoy! You won’t taste the green we promise, but it gives such a great extra boost of nutrients that your body will love.

This smoothie is packed full of nutrients, it tastes delicious and it’s super refreshing, so it’ll definitely set you up well for the day ahead.

Cook Them Into Sauces

Another thing you can do if you really don’t like the taste of vegetables is to cook them into sauces! When making soups, pasta or curries, chop up veggies like peppers, carrots, onions and celery, then cook until really soft in the sauce and blend until super smooth (adding more water if you need to get the consistency you’re looking for).

You won’t taste the veggies, especially when your sauce is well seasoned with salt, pepper and your favourite herbs and spices. This is also great if you have kids who aren’t a fan of veggies as they’ll never know the difference!
